Acclaim:
"Crown is that special someone to watch closely… She is creative and restless, so it is impossible to predict what her paintings will look like in future years. It is safe to expect, though, that they will show perception, skill and emotion."
-- William Steadman, long-time director of the University of Arizona Museum of Art, in Art Voices
"Katie Crown creates lively, colorful oil and watercolor paintings and sculptures. ...[T]he dancers in 'Swing' do not interact with each other and appear to float on the canvas."
-- Michelle Mills, Los Angeles Daily News
"First place in the competition was Katie Crown's uninhibited 'Wheatfields with Farmhouse.' Exaggerated beyond romanticism, this watercolor is dominated by strokes of orange and green that throb in circular patterns. The result is a static landscape that brims with motion."
-- Jeanne Childers, Arizona Daily Wildcat

"Crown paints in a lyrical abstract expressionist style with touches of surrealism inspired by Arizona and Midwest landscapes. She builds tension with bold colors and shapes."
